Found around waterways throughout the world, damselflies are distinguished from their dragonflies cousins by wings. Damselflies hold them upright when resting while dragonflies hold them parallel with the ground. The tips of the damselfly's wings are also more rounded. Even though damselflies are often smaller than dragonflies, the largest insect of Odonata is a damselfly with a wingspan of 19 cm (7.5 in).

Also called mosquito hawks and devils darning needle, dragonflies along with damselflies are part of the order Odonata. Dragonflies have some of the longest adult stages of all the aquatic insects and may live for up to a few months. They are a welcome guest around the garden due to their tendency to eat mosquitos at both the nymph and adult stages. The adult's legs are perfectly formed for scooping insects out of the air and eating them on the fly. Due to this unique configuration of the legs, dragonflies cannot crawl.

One of the largest and fastest oceanic fish, Atlantic bluefin tuna have been clocked at 43 mph (70 kph). They can retract their dorsal and pectoral fins into slots to reduce drag and increase speed. Unlike most fish, bluefin have the ability to regulate their body temperature through a unique configuration of blood veins and arteries. This warmer body temperature allows them to swim faster and hunt farther north than most large fish. Individual fish have been known to make multiple trips across the Atlantic in a year. Unfortunately, these beautiful fish are prized for their meat and are being severely over-fished. The huge individuals that used to swim throughout the Atlantic are a very rare sight nowadays.
